The Best Seafood Dishes for Fall

Ahh, fall. The season of pumpkin spice everything, costume parties and spicy seafood linguini. Didn’t expect that last one? Then you’re definitely doing fall wrong. The crisp weather brings many dishes into the spotlight, especially seafood entrees that are often too heavy for the summer. Whether you’re a shrimp girl or a pasta man, there’s something for you at North Beach Fish Camp, even when the leaves start to fall.

Blackened Mahi with Tasso Ham Gravy, Collards and Creamy Grits

A wonderful thing about fall is that you don’t have to be in a bathing suit anytime soon! This means you can have all the gravy and grits your little heart desires. September is a great time for Mahi in Florida, so this dish naturally slides to the top of our list. Pair fresh Mahi with a tasty tasso ham gravy (which has “fall in the south” written all over it) and you’re guaranteed to have a good night.
Recommend Fall Drink Pairing:
Cabernet Sauvignon
Pale Ale

Rick’s All Day Seafood Soup
Okay, so this isn’t technically a main dish, but we couldn’t go without mentioning it. But hey, order a full bowl and you’ll definitely leave satisfied. Imagine all of your favorite seafoods soaking up a rich, flavorful red broth. It’s filling, and it’s heavenly. Not to mention the fact that soup was practically created for cold weather!
If you’re more of a soup AND salad kinda person, we’ve got you covered. The perfect pairing to our seafood soup is our Iceberg Wedge with Blue Cheese Dressing & Crispy Bacon. I mean hello, you can’t go wrong with bacon.
Recommend Fall Drink Pairing:
Sauvignon Blanc
Cream Ale

Roast Cod Filet with Brown Butter, Garlic & Lemon, Parsley Potatoes and Steamed Vegetables
The flavors drawn out by roasting the fish fit perfectly into the tastes of fall, especially when they’re mixed with brown butter. Brown butter makes dishes more rich, and we’re definitely not complaining about it! But think of it this way, the steamed vegetables cancel out the calories from the brown butter and the potatoes. Right?
Recommend Fall Drink Pairing:
Bourbon Bliss- Buffalo Trace Bourbon, Brown Sugar Simple Syrup, Orange Bitters, Benedictine

Spicy Seafood Linguini with Garlic, Tomato and Parsley
If your ears didn’t perk up at the mention of linguini then something’s definitely wrong. Pasta is the best thing ever created, and North Beach Fish Camp has basically perfected it. Spicy pasta dishes should be an everyday thing during the fall, especially when fresh seafood is thrown into the equation. You really can’t go wrong with this dish.
Recommend Fall Drink Pairing:
Sauvignon Blanc
And because we know our audience, it’s clear we have to mention the best fall desserts at North Beach Fish Camp. But honestly, a slice of key lime pie is always appropriate.

Signature White Chocolate Bread Pudding
This ties back to the whole “not having to wear a bathing suit thing”. If you finish one of these completely on your own, we definitely won’t judge. The white chocolate adds an irresistible richness and depth to this standard dessert. Because of the richness added to an already rich dish, your taste buds will love you but your jeans might fight back.

Sweet & Salty Chocolate Torte
It’s really hard to tell you this dessert is the best in the fall, because you should definitely eat it year round. But for the sake of making your fall nights just a little bit better, sneak this torte in after your meal. It’s sweet, it’s salty, it’s heavenly. Plus, chocolate (and ordering dessert in general) is really never a bad idea.
We really hope your mouth is watering at this point. Ours sure are. See, even though summer’s coming to an end you still have plenty to look forward to. Thrown on your sweaters and slip on your boots, because North Beach Fish Camp is the place to be when the temperatures drop.
