How to Incorporate Seafood into any Holiday Meal

Shrimp and grits…on Christmas Eve? Welcome to the South! And believe it or not, the tradition of ditching the tenderloin for seasonal seafood is a popular tradition around the country. Whether you’re simply serving drinks and appetizers or a full seven course meal, we have a few tricks up our sleeve that are sure to impress your guests. We’ll even give you a little inspiration by naming a few of our dishes that would work absolutely perfectly for your holiday menu. Nice of us, we know!

If you’re serving a soup:

Two words: seafood stew. Baby it’s cold outside, and that calls for a hearty soup packed with  a smorgasbord of seafood. The great thing about serving this soup is that a small portion can serve as an appetizer, or a larger helping will get the job done for lunch.

We might be biased, but Rick’s All Day Seafood Soup is a game changer. Join us for lunch or dinner to find out why a seafood stew needs to be on your dining table this holiday.

If it’s appetizers all around:

Oh gosh, where to begin! It doesn’t matter if you’re strictly serving hors d’oeuvres or just need some ideas for starters before the main course, we’ve got ya covered. From oysters to octopus, seafood always has a place on the appetizer menu.

North Beach Fish Camp knows tapas, and here are the ones that fit perfectly into the holiday season: Crispy Calamari with Spicy Tomato Sauce, Raw or Steamed Oysters on the Half Shell and Mussels Marinière. We think Christmas calls for rich dishes bursting with flavor. You’re in luck, because all three of our recommendations pack that punch!

If you’re going all the way:

The hostess with the mostest serves numerous courses, of course. For a full-on dinner party, you can spread seafood options throughout the menu, from the starters to the desserts. Traditional holiday meals are heavy and predictable, but North Beach Fish Camp won’t settle for boring!

These are a few of our favorite things. If you don’t want to attempt replicating them, bring your holiday party to the Fish Camp!
