How to Plan an Awesome Day in Atlantic Beach

There might be snow falling everywhere else in the country, but beach weather has already arrived in Jacksonville! Nestled on a little corner of a cobblestone street in North Florida is North Beach Fish Camp, and we’re so excited for the beach-goers to start pouring through our doors. If you’re coming to Atlantic Beach for lunch at North Beach Fish Camp, you absolutely must stay for a few hours and explore the rest of our amazing little town. So, pick a sunny day this month, pack your beach bag and head over to Atlantic Beach. Here are a few ideas to fill your agenda:

First Stop: Lunch at North Beach Fish Camp

Hey, it isn’t a beach day unless you start with some cocktails and ceviche! Our location is pretty great, but our restaurant and food are even better. North Beach Fish Camp has plenty of outdoor seating overlooking the laid-back streets of Atlantic Beach, great indoor seating and a fully-stocked bar and a third floor with amazing beach views. Does it get any better than that? We don’t think so.

Our beachy restaurant decor might impress you, but that first bite of food will put you over the edge! For a pre-beach lunch, here are a few menu items we recommend:

  • Ceviche of the Day with Soda Crackers
  • Baja Style Tacos with Cod, Salsa Fresca and Adobe Sour Cream
  • Grilled Salmon B.L.T. with Carol’s Pickled Zucchini and Fish Camp Tartar Sauce

Cool Off with Some Paddle Boarding

One of our neighbors, Jax Surf & Paddle, rents everything from surfboards to bocce ball sets. One of our favorite ways to enjoy a hot day at the beach is with an hour or two spent on the paddle board. Not only will you get to cool off in the ocean, but you’ll get some good exercise out of it!

Hunt for Shark Teeth and Seaglass

It doesn’t matter if you’re a tourist or you’ve lived at the beach your whole life, it’s hard not to step foot in the sand and scan for a sharp tooth or weathered glass. You could walk for miles in either direction and just admire the beautiful homes and peaceful water. This is an activity that could last all day!

Grab a Cold Drink

Get your afternoon pick-me-up with a frosty cocktail at the Lemon Bar. There’s nothing better than a frozen beverage on a sizzling hot day. Well, adding liquor makes it a little better. The Lemon Bar is located right on the ocean and is the place to be on sunny days.

We could go on forever about things to do in Atlantic Beach. But there’s one thing for sure: you must stop at North Beach Fish Camp. It’ll be the highlight of your day, regardless of what you order. Whether you’re vacationing on spring break or you’re just exploring different corners of Jacksonville, Atlantic Beach is a must. Our little beach town is growing like crazy, and we can’t wait for you to experience just how amazing it is!
