Fresh Springtime Cocktails You Need to Try

Mar 2, 2020 | Uncategorized

It’s about time to say goodbye to the chilly weather we’ve had all winter. Jacksonville locals are ready for sunny beach days, long bike rides and strong cocktails. If we’re speaking your language, the North Beach Fish Camp crew is here with our favorite spring sippers. Whether you fancy tequila or whiskey, there’s something for everyone on this list of seasonal cocktails.

French 75

This is one for those fancy luncheons or cocktails with the girls (or guys!) The French 75 is a staple on many respectable restaurant menus all around the United States (and presumably France.) It strikes the perfect balance between sweet, sour and strong.

Ingredients

2 oz. Gin or Vodka

1 tsp. Sugar

Juice of ½ a lemon

5 oz. Champagne or Prosecco

Shake the first three ingredients in a chilled cocktail shaker. Strain into a glass of ice, then strain again into a Champagne flute. Top with sparkling wine and a twist of lemon peel.

Classic Gimlet (with a North Beach Twist)

The recipe we’re sharing today is a bit different than what we mix up over at the Fish Camp. Want to hear a secret? The Cucumber Basil Gimlet our bartenders make is the best on the planet. This one’s a close second.

Ingredients

2 oz. Gin

Juice of 1 lime

1 tbsp. Agave nectar or simple syrup

Splash of soda water

Add the first three ingredients into a chilled cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake until cold. Strain into a glass and top with a splash of soda water. Garnish with a lime wheel.

Citrus Mule

Yet another example of a great cocktail recipe that North Beach takes to a whole new level. You’re going to love this one, but you’d be remiss to not try our in-house Beachside Mule.

Ingredients:

2 oz. Ginger Beer

1 oz. Orange Liqueur

1.5 oz. Vodka

Juice of ½ a lime

Juice of ½ a grapefruit

Squeeze the fresh citrus into a copper mule glass. Add ice and first three ingredients. Stir to mix and garnish with citrus slices.
